House T-Rex

House T-Rex is an ecologic single-housing refurbishment in KfW 55 standard, Berlin Neukölln. It runs on wood pellets and two solar-modules heating the drinking water. With a minimal intervention we use the maximum of the grey energy. The existing souterrain basement is rededicated as sanitary and bedrooms. The first floor contains kitchen and living rooms. A new staircase connects basement, first floor and rearranges the layout in a more flexible manner. Staircase, pellet storage and carport are combined to one volume. This and the facade materialisation let the small house appear spacious. The facade and the roof are both insulated with a wooden fibres.
